Tragedy in Beitar: 4 Year Old Girl Killed In Car Accident
Two children were hit by a car during a private car wash on Rechov Pachad Yitzchak. A 4 year old girl was mortally wounded and her 10 year old brother was lightly wounded, when a 16 year old boy put the car in reverse and jumped the curb.

Two children, a brother and sister were hit by a car today in Beitar Illit during at a private car wash in the city. A 16 year old boy who was working at the car wash put the car in reverse and jumped the curb, crashing into a bench and crushing the little girl sitting there. Hatzalah volunteers began resuscitation attempts but were not successful. She was transported by a mobile ICU unit to Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital were her death was declared.
Her 10 year old brother, who had been sitting beside her on the bench was lightly wounded in his leg and was also transported to the hospital.
The Levaya of 4 year old Mali Bernstein, daughter of Chaim and Chassi Bernstein was held at 11:30 p.m.
The mayor Meir Rubenstein has declared that the municipality will close down all private car washing endeavors in the city. "We will not condone hefkeirus and danger due to Pesach preparations."
