Nearly 90% Increase in Charedi Stuedents
According to the statistics of the Misrad Hachinuch, 190,000 charedi students have joined the Jewish school system since the year 2000 (an 89% increase).

According to the statistics of the Misrad Hachinuch, 190,000 charedi students have joined the Jewish school system since the year 2000 (an 89% increase). For the sake of comparison the public school system has added 97,000 students (an11% increase), the religious public school system has added 64,000 students (a 27% increase).
Almost 30% of the preschool students are charedi, numbering some 110,000 children. The fact that nearly a third of all Jewish children in Israel are charedi will have far reaching effects on Israeli politics and the Israeli economy.
In Yerushalayim 66% percent of preschool children are charedi.
