Derech Mehadrin is ours and for Men Only
Yoshev Rosh Vaad of the Yishuv Meiron, Mordechai Halperin sent a letter to the Ministry of Religion: "Derec h Mehadrin is owned by us and it is our right to designated it for use by men only."

Who does Derech Mehadrin belong to? In response to Bechadrey Charedim's publicizing yesterday that the legal advisor to the Ministry of Religion was forced to declare that the pathway would be open to women – Mordechai Halperin is making it clear that the path under discussion is a private foot path.
In a letter to the legal advisor of the Ministry of Religion, Yisrael Pa, Halperin wrote," We heard and saw in the media statements that you made allowing women to use the Derech Mehadrin foot path to the grave of Rabi Shimon Bar Yochai in Meiron. We would like to inform you that this this foot path is not a statutory path. It is a private path owned by us and there for only we will decide who is allowed to use it. Even the Supreme Court cannot damage our rights to the path that we privately own.
"Therefore, we are announcing that thie path will be used only by men. We are requesting your apology and explaining in the media."
