Hot Dry Weather Causes Fires
Firefighters called to fight 70 fires around the country Friday.

A large fire burned out of control for a while on Friday in the Karnei Shomron area. The fire was located on Givat Moshe Zar between Karnei Shomron and Ramat Gilad in the West Bank.
The fire triggered the explosion of old mines in the area. 17 fire companies and 6 firefighting jets were called to the scene. 6 trailer homes were damaged by the fire. Highway 55 between Ramat Gilad and Karnei Shomron was closed in both directions.
Another large brush fire broke out near Givat Koach. 14 firefighting companies were called to the scene. Four more firefighting teams worked to extinguish a fire near Roah Haayin.
