With the gag order lifted, details are starting to emerge of a peculiar story that is still unfolding: A 22-year old Jewish Israeli man traveled to take part in the fight against ISIS.

Upon his return from the battlefield, the taxi driver who was transporting him attempted to kill him. Fearing for his life the Israeli fired two bullets at the driver, which critically wounded and ultimately killed him.

The Israeli was arrested, and is now sitting in a local prison since June 6, 2015, in a country that does not have any diplomatic ties with Israel.

The local court in the antagonistic country will most likely sentence him to death, for the crime of killing a local citizen- the cab driver.

It all started when the Israeli travelled to visit his grandparents, who live in close proximity to the war taking place against ISIS.

The Israeli joined the ranks of the local army to participate in the fight against ISIS.

While taking a break from the fighting, he headed to visit his grandparents, traveling with a local cab.

On the way, the driver identified him as being a Jew and attempted to murder him. Since the Israeli was on his way back from the front, he was armed; and shot the driver in self-defense. The driver was critically injured and a few days later died of his injuries.

The usual sentence handed down for the crime of murder in the country where the incident took place, is death penalty.

The sentence is expected to be handed down within the next few days.

The Israeli ‘Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ released a statement saying, “The wellbeing and security of the Israeli citizen is at the forefront of our agenda.

Therefore, the ministry of foreign affairs has been in touch with the family for a long period of time. We hope that the fathers’ and the familys’ efforts will bear fruit and the son will be released soon”.

The affair was made public by mistake, two months ago, by MK Iyov Kara, who posted the story on his Facebook page. After being told that the story was under a gag order, the MK promptly removed it.

As of now the gag order has been officially lifted, and details are slowly starting to emerge.
