Destruction Of Homes In Ofra Postponed By A Month
The Israeli High Court of justice postponed the destruction of homes in Ofra allegedly built on privately owned land, by a month- Chief justice Neor “We hope that at the appropriated time of evacuation the residents will leave peacefully”

The Israeli high court postponed the demolition order of 9 homes in the town of Ofra located in Binyamin, by one month. The decision was made by chief justice Miriam Neor and judge Yitschok Amit, and falls short of the three months the families had originally requested, so their new homes currently being built will be complete and they won’t have to move twice.
Chief justice Neor pointed out that “Although the request for a three months’ delay has been denied, we are hopeful that when the designated time for evacuation arrives the residents will evacuate peacefully as they declared in their affidavits. No one has the right to act with violence towards any government agency or any other person”.
Ahron Lipkin, Spokesman for the town of Ofra responded to Neors’ words, saying: “The town of Ofra and the residents of the 9 homes are very disappointed in the high court’s decision to postpone the destruction by only aa month, thereby not permitting the families to move straight into to their new homes which are currently under construction and will not be completed by the end of the month”.
Lipkin further added, “The high court judge’s demonstrated insensitivity towards the families’ feelings, Prolonged the agony of waiting fruitlessly, and missed an opportunity to restore residues of trust to the hall of justice in the State.
We demand of the prime minister to complete the legislative process of the ‘Hasdarah law’ by tomorrow, and to institute it immediately, in order to free the settlements from the squad of persecution and destruction comprised of the extreme left which is cooperating with our enemies via the high court….”
