Once, it used to be the norm, but over the last years, in which many communities compete who will be more radical than the next, it doesn't seem normal any longer.
At a private Matzah bakery in Bnei Brak, the members of one family bake Matzos for Pesach, including the women.
One of the family members tells during a talk with the Behadrey Haredim reporter, about the long term tradition. "Over more than 20 years we have a family tradition to bake the Matzos ourselves. It started in the north of Israel, and after the family extended, we moved to Bnei Brak where we purchased a new oven".
A few days before Pesach, 3 generations of the family stand, men and women alike, each one in his special role.
"We are talking of a few tens of kilograms which we prepare. From year to year the family circle extends. This comes into expression in the quantity of bakers and Matzos. For us, this is a family experience just like sitting together around a Shabbos table with the entire family.

"Many people come to watch the scene from close by. There are those who raise their eye-brows, but certainly everyone accepts it understandingly and even praise us."
To his words, the women also take the hard roles at times, "they mainly work on the table with the rolling out of the dough, but there are those who take harder roles".
In conclusion, he summarizes: "It has no alternative – not in terms of Kashrus, and not professionally".
