His life was saved thanks to a road accident: A 45 year old avrech, resident of Jerusalem, was involved in a harsh road accident a few weeks ago. A call was received in the Hatzola center about a motorbike rider who was wounded by a car and is lying on the side of the road.

Although the casualty refused, he was evacuated to hospital, where he underwent tests which showed that he is ill with cancer, but the early discovery lead to saving his life.

The accident occurred on the Golda Meir road under the Begin Bridge in Jerusalem.
The Hatzola paramedics who came to the scene, noticed an man who was lying on the road bleeding, and at a large distance away from him was the motorbike on which he rode. Later on, it became clear that a car had hit him and as a result he flew tens of meters and was wounded in a medium condition. At first, he refused to be evacuated to hospital and complained of strong pains in his ribs. The paramedics insisted to evacuate him, and within minutes he was placed into the trauma room in Hadassah Ein Karem hospital. In the first tests he underwent in hospital, the medical team found a tear in his spleen. Later on, when he was taken in for a CT to check the extent of the injury, the doctors discovered that he is suffering of cancer in his lungs. They said that the early discovery will enable the treatment in the best and most professional way.

Dvir Adani, the Ichud Hatzola on-call paramedic who arrived on the scene of the accident, told Behadrei Hareidim that, "sometimes life saving is much more than what you see on the scene. Baruch Hashem, in this case the life of the avrech were saved beyond being saved from the accident itself."

Yosef Sorek, an ambulance driver of MDA and a friend of the avrech, told Behadrei Hareidim: "He thanked me that I insisted to evacuate him to hospital. It became clear that his life was saved as a result of this accident. I have a great feeling of satisfaction. Many of these cases with which we deal, end with hospitalization of a day and release home, but here I know that I saved the life of a dear avrech, not only once".
