Suicide bomber blew up in light rail station in Mount Herzl
An exercise which replicated a multi-casualty event was performed in Jerusalem. The exercise was held as a summary test in a trauma course by the head of the trauma unit at the Hadasah Ein Karem hospital, Prof. Avi Rivkind

On Wednesday morning, a replication of a multi-casualty terrorist attack was performed at the light rail station in Jerusalem.
In the scenario, a suicidal bomber exploded at the Mount Herzl station. The exercise included about 30 casualties in different levels of injury, which tens of emergency teams of the police, fire department and Ichud Hatzola treated.
Close to a hundred students took part in the exercise, besides the rest of the forces. The exercise was supervised by officers of the security arms of Jerusalem, among them the police commander of the Jerusalem district, Major General Nisso Shaham, and the commander of the fire brigade in the city, General Shmulik Friedman.
The exercise was done as a summarizing test in the trauma course which was held by the head of the trauma unit in the Hadassah Ein Karem hospital, Prof. Avi Rivkind.
The course students were trained to cope with hard trauma events such as terrorist attacks, car accidents etc. After receiving first aid on the site, the "casualties" were transferred to the Hadassah hospital for continued treatment.
The head of the exercise, Prof. Avi Rivkind, explained that "Unfortunately, the Israeli reality has turned our trauma doctor into a super-expert. We have written whole doctrines, changed the text books in trauma, and even more so in terror". Other visitors to the scene were Minister of Internal Security, Yitzchak Aharonovitz and deputy Minister of Health, Harav Yaakov Litzman, who praised all the factors and mentioned that "this is one of the most complex exercises which were held recently".
