That's how soldiers without Shabbos food were taken care of
Because of a hold back, the Nachal Hareidi soldiers were left in the Adam Base without food for Shabbos. Until Berale Yakobovitz got a phone call – and recruited restaurants in Bnei Brak. "We had a real Oneg Shabbos"

Business owners in Bnei Brak were recruited on Erev Shabbos for the Seudas Shabbos of the Nachal Hareidim soldiers.
On Friday, two hours before Shabbos came in, Berale Yakobovitz, the executive officer of Zaka of the Dan district, got a surprising phone call. On the line was Harav Yitzchak Bar Chaim, the Rav of the Nachal hareidi.
The Rav told him that at the army base in the Adam facility, which is located close to Modi'in, there is a group of about 30 religious and hareidi soldiers, who as a result of a technical fault, were left without organized food for Shabbos in the place they are staying. "Besides frozen battle meals and sliced bread, they had nothing," the Rav told.
Berale made a list of necessary products, and recruited foodstuffs for Shabbos from shop owners and catering businesses around Bnei Brak.
Harav Bar Chaim related in a talk with Behadrei Hareidim: "Harav Yaron David who brings the Oneg Shabbos every Erev Shabbos for the soldiers, approached me and said that soldiers who went out for a fighters' course, were left without food for Shabbos.
"One of the alumni of the unit who lives in Modi'in Ilit sent me to Berale. I phoned him, and he answered that he'll take care of it straight away. After 10 minutes he got back to me, and asked what else they need besides basic food."
An hour before Shabbos came in, a Zaka ambulance came to the gates of the army base, and the soldiers were surprised to discover all the necessities for Shabbos with the variety of foods, with special attention to little details too, such as a fridge for the salads, hotplates for warming the food, grape juice and a Kiddush cup.
"The IDF undertook to supply Kosher Lemehadrin food, but each time the hareidi soldiers go of the battalion for a course, they come across difficulties in food logistics," says Bar Chaim.
"The officer sent me a message on Motzaei Shabbos that the soldiers really enjoyed themselves, and they had a real Oneg Shabbos".
