On Wednesday evening, a tragedy occurred in Bnei Brak: an infant who stayed at his grandmother's home suddenly stopped breathing, and died in the frightened grandmother's arms.

Close to 18pm, a report was received about an unconscious child on Eshel Avraham street in the Ezer Mizion clinic in Bnei Brak.

The Ichud Hatzala and Hatzala Gush Dan paramedics who arrived on the scene, started resuscitation on the infant of 8 months, who was found without pulse or breathing. After about 30 minutes of resuscitation the doctor determined his death.

Efi Feldman, head of Ichud Hatzala branch in Bnei Brak related in a talk with Behadrey Haredim: "We were alarmed into the Ezer Mizion clinic where it was reported of an unconscious baby. We tried to save his life and performed long resuscitation, but unfortunately, his death was determined. The background is unclear, but most probably the baby suffocated, which is what caused his death".

David Gross, paramedic in Hatzala Gush Dan related: The baby stayed at his grandmother's home, according to the grandmother she found the baby without breathing, while he slept in the crib. They turned to the Ezer Mizion house which is close by.

"We were called in by the MDA center. When we arrived, we found the baby without pulse and unconscious, we performed resuscitation, but the MDA paramedic who arrived determined his death. No doubt, this is a tragedy. The background is unclear".
