A strong storm hit the New York quarters on Shabbos morning, and caused alarm among its residents. Heavy damages to property. No casualties. Might develop and strengthen during the evening.

During the morning hours on Shabbos, a strong storm, accompanied by strong winds, hit the Brooklyn and Queens quarters in New York. The storm damaged areas in Queens and caused damages to property.
American media reports great fear among residents of the city, many of whom deserted it or hid in their homes. According to reports, many objects flew up in the air, among them benches, coasters and other garden furniture.
Traffic was disrupted in the area, electric wires were damaged, and according to fire fighters in the city it is possible that further damage was done.
Meanwhile, according to the meteorological service in New York, it has not yet been decided whether the storm is defined as a Tornado but one has to be ware since in the evening hours it might develop and strengthen considerably.
