Deep mourning among thousands of Talmidim and alumni of Kochav Miyaakov Yeshiva, Tshebin: after long months of suffering - the Rosh Yeshiva Hagaon R' Avrohom Genichovsky zt"l, was niftar. Despite his harsh disease he did not cancel even one of his daily Shiurim. Thousands are expected to take part in his levaya today

Nitzchu Erelim Es Hametzukim: last night, close to 3 am, Hagaon R' Avrohom Genichovsky zt"l, Rosh Yeshiva of Kochav Miyaakov, Tshebin, passed away at the age of 76, after a long period of suffering and agony.
About four months ago, on the 15th of Sivan, Hagr"a zt"l was hospitalized at the Ichilov hospital in Tel Aviv, after he felt ill. The doctors thought at first that he suffered of stones in his kidneys, but during the operation done immediately after hospitalization, it became clear that this is a fatal and malignant cyst in the liver.
Gedolei Yisroel went out of their way – Hagry"l Shteinman asked to publicize a special letter which other Gedolei Yisroel joined, asking to daven for the Rosh Yeshiva of Tshebin, in the Yeshivos and kollelim, and indeed, in many places Tefilla rallies were held for his recovery. Rosh Yeshiva of Poneviz Hagry"g Edelstein and Gab"d of Bnei Brak Hagr"n Karelitz even held a special Bikur Cholim to the deceased.
Hagr"a Genichovsky underwent a long series of treatment overseas over the last few months, and was hospitalized at Sha'arei Tzedek hospital.
Despite his harsh disease, Hagr"a continued his daily routine and gave his fixed Shiurim as usual.
Hagr"a was born on the 1st day of Rosh Hashanah 5697 to his father R' Eliyahu Moshe z"l, and lived on Avtalion street in Bnei Brak. For decades he served as the head of the Tshebin Yeshiva.
He left behind his son Harav Shlomo Yosef Genichovsky, and his son in law, Harav Binyamin Meir. During his life he had lost his son Rephael Yonah z"l. His levaya will take place today (Thursday) with thousands of his Talmidim and followers participating.
May his soul be cherished for eternal life.
