A policeman and a policewoman brutally beat a Jewish youngster in Crown Heights in Brooklyn - Jewish community leaders and city officials called for their dismissal from office.

Student Ehud Levi was staying as a guest in the Crown - Heights neighborhood where tens of thousands of Chabad Chassidim live. On Shmini Atzeres he stayed at the 'Aliya' organization home in the neighborhood, which is authorized by local managers.

In the early morning hours whilst he was still sleeping, a policeman and a policewoman broke in, and suspected him due to him staying at the place and informed him that he was under arrest, whilst attempting to put handcuffs on him.

Ehud tried to prove them wrong - and resisted arrest. The policeman attacked him; hit him in the stomach and all over his body, and Ehud fell to the floor.

The officer sprayed him with tear gas, and when he was wounded and bleeding, police handcuffed him and dragged him into the van.

The officer called for backup, and a few police vans arrived. Other officers who arrived also joined in the celebration, and beat the already beaten boy.

Ehud was detained for four days and released on bail, with the help of the neighborhood activists.

After Simchat Torah activists pulled out the security tape, and watched the officers beating the youngster, and the event from start to finish. The film shows the youngster trying to explain his stay there. The police refused to listen to him and beat him.

At a press conference held today (Monday) in a Chabad yeshiva in the neighborhood, which was attended by many as well by City Councilman David Greenfield and council member Dov Hikind. Hikind and Greenfield called to immediately fire the two officers.
