Community service for zealot who shouted "Shiksa" to journalist

Moshe Friedman from Beit Shemesh was accused of attacking the Commissioner of Education in the city, Channel 10 photographer and IDF Radio reporter

Jerusalem Magistrate's Court yesterday (Sunday) sentenced Moshe Friedman, senior of extremist community in Beit Shemesh, who was accused of attacking a municipality worker in the past, a photographer and reporter of Channel 10, and in another case also attacked the IDF Radio reporter.

Friedman was sentenced to three months of community service and three months' probation for three years - if he repeats one the offenses of which he was convicted.

According to the indictment filed against Friedman, listing events in which he was convicted: On -26.12.11 he attacked Richard Peres, director of education in Beit Shemesh, prevented him from being interviewed and during the filming he placed his hat on his face. Friedman also pushed a cameraman of Channel 10.

It was further claimed that in the same incident Friedman called Peres a "Nazi."

In addition, the indictment also refers to the fact that Friedman attacked last September the Army Radio reporter Tal Yehezkeli. According to the indictment, Friedman called Yehezkeli a "Shiksa" and spat on her neck.

As said, his sentence amounts to 3 months of community service and 3 months of probation.

His attorney, Yair Nehorai, said in response to Behadrey Haredim: "This is a worthy arrangement."
