Paramedic alarmed to accident and discovered: casualty is his daughter
Avishalom Yankevitz, paramedic of Ichud Hatzala from Netivot was alarmed to a harsh road accident and was horrified to discover: the casualty is his eight year old daughter

Volunteer paramedics from the Netivot branch of Ichud Hatzala who were called on Wednesday to treat a harsh road accident on Jabotinsky street in the city, discovered to their dismay when they arrived: the casualty was no less than the 8 year old daughter of one of them.
"In the afternoon, we got a report of a harsh accident in which a child was injured by a car", volunteer Avishalom Yankevitz recalls. "Seemingly, this was another routine call which we are used to get, but when I started taking care of the girl, I noticed that this was my daughter. At first, I felt paralyzed, I couldn't continue with treatment. This is a very harsh feeling, but I knew that I'm here also as a paramedic who is supposed to give the best medical treatment, and therefore I must carry on with treatment.
"The child was in full consciousness, and as a father, I recruited all my powers to give her strength, in parallel to the medical treatment, together with additional forces who came," tells Yankevitz. "The teams who arrived noticed my sensitivity and made it much easier for me with the treatment".
After the primary treatment on the scene, the father joined the ambulance which evacuated the girl to the Soroka hospital in Be'er Sheva, with her condition defined as medium with a head injury, and she is now recuperating there.
"With the kindness of Heaven her condition has greatly improved over the last few hours, and we are waiting for answers of doctors regarding further treatment," says the father. "We had a big miracle. In the merit of my volunteering to save lives, my daughter's life was also saved."
The public is asked to continue davening for Shulamis Krendel bas Rivka Chaya, for Refuah Shleima.
