Square: A speeding car hit five girls and caused a power cut
Accident in New-Square • Commercial vehicle driver lost control and crossed the sidewalk whilst speeding • hit 5 girls and the electricity pole

A serious accident took place today (Monday), in New Square which ended with five injured girls and a collapsed electric pole.
The accident occurred when the driver of a van lost control, for some unknown reason, his vehicle ran over the curb and injured five girls, including two sisters, and went on to crash into an electricity pole.
The accident took place when five girls aged 6-8 were coming off the school bus which returned them home from school. Suddenly the speeding vehicle drove onto the curb and hit the five girls.
The vehicle continued to speed towards the pole - which collapsed.
Many rescue forces arrived and gave treatment to the wounded girls. Three girls were rushed to the Westchester hospital in moderate condition, while the other two who were slightly injured were taken to the Nyack hospital.
The collapsed electricity pole disconnected the electricity in the area for many hours.
The electricity company catapulted electrical workers to repair the electricity, which took until nightfall
