The Israeli Electric Company began training Orthodox women from all over the country, in order to be integrated as representatives into customer service centers of 103. This is done as part of the company's initiative to integrate marginalized populations into the labor market. This activity is now carrying out designated recruiting, including integration of Orthodox women.
Over the last two years, specialized training courses for customer service representatives for Hareidi women have been started, for customer service centers - 103 in the South and the North, and recently the course is being given in Jerusalem. Courses are offered by request of the local Orthodox population and the success of the integration of women working in call centers in the districts. The Electric Company acceded to the request of opening courses with the understanding that affirmative action has to be given to marginalized populations.
The courses are held at the company and last for five weeks, in hours which suit women. The women were accepted according to course requirements and the company's screening tests, with the aid of the Hareidi association "And give with love." The work is also suitable for Hareidi women as it allows flexible work arrangement totaling about 3 shifts a week. During the course in Jerusalem these days, 12 Hareidi women aged 19-57 from Jerusalem will learn and integrate into work.
Eli Glickman, CEO of the electric company explained: "As part of the company's policy, to be an active partner in promoting and developing the physical and social periphery of Israel, we are working to integrate workers from the Hareidi sector into the IEC. Inter alia, through the employment of women, especially the Hareidi women."
