Ramat Beit Shemesh: played dangerous game in bath - and drowned

A boy drowned tonight (Thursday) in a bathtub in Ramat Beit Shemesh, he is in a critical condition.
A 6 year old boy, drowned in the bathtub on Ben Zakai street in Ramat Beit Shemesh, apparently while playing a dangerous game with his brother.
Ichud Hatzala paramedics and MDA rescue crews found the child without a pulse and not breathing, and performed life-saving resuscitation.
During resuscitation actions the pulse returned, and the child was taken while being anesthetized and ventilated, using an MDA ambulance to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital.
Yitzchak Dresner of Ichud Hatzala, related: "When we got to the apartment the boy was lying in the living room after being removed from the bathroom, I and other medics made a lengthy resuscitation to save his life, after successful resuscitation." Moshe Benita an MDA paramedic also says that, "This incident is very harsh, when we got to the child's home, the family was helpless and led us to the child.
"His condition was critical at this point, we began with resuscitation attempts which were successful, and after we had returned the child's pulse, we took him in a very harsh condition to the trauma unit of Hadassah Ein Kerem".
Jerusalem police said that an initial investigation of the incident found that the child drowned during a game with his brother.
The 6-year-old boy and his 5-year-old brother competed "who will dive in the water for a longer time". The 6-year-old boy plunged too long. And when he didn't rise from the water, his brother called the parents.
Hatzala team wants to remind parents, the obligation not to leave children unattended in the bath. Note that there is a danger of slipping, injury or drowning.
