An initial investigation of the attack indicates that the stabbed Jew was walking back with his friend from the Western Wall towards the Moskowitz Ras-al Ammud compound when suddenly, near the square, two terrorists attacked them, stabbing the Jew in his back.

The two continued to the Moskowitz compound, where they called an ambulance – and the wounded man was evacuated to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital. The friend who was with him was not injured.

A gag order was imposed on details of the investigation, arrests, searches and any other investigation details.

About 30 Jewish protesters arrived after Shabbos at the Rass-Al-Ammud square - Jerusalem, and tried to block the road in protest of the stabbing incident. The protesters were removed by police who detained two of them. Jerusalem District Police reported that protesters were dispersed and that there were no casualties in the incident.
