Death toll rose to 180 • 2.5 million people without electricity

United States East Coast still deals with the consequences of Super Storm 'Sandy'.

Severe shortage of fuel, cutting off electricity and floods, are some of the problems facing residents affected by the storm that hit the east coast last week. According to news agencies, 2.5 million homes and businesses are still cut off from electricity.

U.S. residents are forced to deal with the coldness outside, and many of them lack the ability to heat their homes.

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg said that it will take a few days for tens of thousands of residents still cut off electricity to be reconnected. "It's getting very cold, I urge those who have heating problems to come in advance to the centers that are ready to deal with the problem," he said.

Meanwhile, rescue forces continue to find bodies under the rubble, and the number of people killed in the storm has reached 180. In New Jersey, 22 people were killed and New York 41, this adds up to 69 people who died when Sandy passed in the Caribbean.

Meanwhile, the United States continues to prepare for the elections. In some areas which were hit, New Jersey, for example, will not be able to go out and vote because of storm damage, therefore, they will be allowed to vote by e-mail. In New York special voting tents were set up in damaged areas.
