Last night at around 20:30 a 23 year old Palestinian was detected approaching the security fence in the central Gaza Strip in Kisufim, the soldiers called out to him and fired warning shots, but he kept coming closer, was shot and injured.
The IDF Spokesman said to B'Chadrei Charedim that IDF troops fired warning shots at the suspect, who approached the fence, but he hid along the river and continued to approach the fence, the soldiers shot him and he was injured.
Palestinian media reported that the young man who was shot was unarmed, and that is mentally ill. He was evacuated to the hospital in critical condition, where he died from his wounds.
Gaza Health Ministry spokesman said that the man, a resident of Nuseirat refugee camp arrived at the hospital after being injured by a grenade, suffering shrapnel wounds in the chest and face, where he was pronounced dead.
