Mordechai Ben David tours Seagate and tells about the amount of destruction
Renowned Chasidic singer, whose house was severely damaged by storm 'Sandy', tells the story of the neighborhood near the water line in a video • "The Gentile's say that without Jewish support – we would all be lost"

Storm 'Sandy' severely damaged the U.S. east coast residents; a neighborhood significantly affected is the prestigious neighborhood of Seagate located on the beach in Brooklyn. Many orthodox artists such as Mordechai Ben David, Yossi Green and others who live there whose homes were severely damaged.
"Anyone who lives in Seagate was severely hit as a result of the storm," says the singer Mordechai Ben David about the damage on a recently uploaded video to the network. Ben David speaks as he stands in the recording studio in the basement of his home and shows the damage he sustained. "People think that insurance covers the damage, but many do not know that anything below the waterline is not covered by insurance."
"This was my recording studio," he says - in the past tense - as he shows the recording equipment which was totally destroyed. "Everything was hit, except for the pictures of the Rebbes and Rabbis hanging on the wall. Baruch Hashem we're okay, safe and sound, but people need to know that the damage here to all residents – was great. "
In a video, taken by Hillel Engel, Ben David presents neighboring houses, "That house on the right," he points out, "was closed by the authorities since you cannot enter it because of the danger. The house on the other side was also destroyed, and the one next to it – was also closed by the authorities."
In another part of the video Ben David comes near to one of the mobility aids installed in the neighborhood, "a non-Jew told me this week that if the Jews would not have helped with the distribution of food, hot drinks, etc. - we would all be lost."
