Shabbos turmoil, accompanied by thunder and rain, all over the country • rare storm flooded the city of Eilat • local airport was closed • rains continue tomorrow

Following Shabbos turmoil, which did not even spare the city of Eilat, the weather is expected to moderate during the week.
Tomorrow (Sunday) it will rain and hail in northern and central Israel. The rain will be accompanied by thunder and winds. During the day, the rain will spread to Negev and there is a fear of floods in the Judean desert, Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley.
On Monday it will rain locally from the north to the Negev, but it will weaken gradually. Temperatures will rise slightly.
Tuesday will be partly cloudy with a further slight increase in temperatures.
In the morning local rain is expected along the coastal plain. On Wednesday, temperatures will increase and they will be normal for the season.
During Shabbos water diffusion was observed over the Mediterranean Sea in the center of the country.
The water diffusion is created under a developed cloud which causes a thunderstorm to develop. The diffusion can only be created over the sea and disappears as it rises over land.
Even in Eilat heavy rain fell during the night, causing flooding in the streets. The city airport was closed.
Summary of precipitation data from the beginning of the winter system on Thursday: 60 mm Hermon, 50 Golan Heights, 65 Galilee, 55 Haifa, 32 Netanya, 48 Kfar Saba, 40 Ben Gurion Airport, 20 Tel Aviv, Eilat 16 mm caused floods and airport closure. Jerusalemites were disappointed with only 4 mm of rainfall.
