Hgrb"d Povarsky: "The Torah does not protect since we harm its dignity"
Rosh Yeshiva of Ponovicz explained why the defense force of the Torah has been harmed in our days • "a state of disregard for dignity of the Torah and its sages was not seen in the last generation"

Rosh Yeshiva of Ponovicz and member of Council of Torah Sages Hgrb"d Povarsky said today (Thursday) at the end of the daily shiur about the recent events and the bombing in the south.
In his speech he insisted that we should be surprised since "the Torah guards and saves, and how does it not protect enough now? But things are interpreted by Chazal on the verse, "and he will be covered in clothes and will not warm," said Rabbi Yossi ben Rabbi Hanina that he who humiliates the clothes does not enjoy them, as it says, 'and David arose, and cut the coat, therefore, it did not keep him warm'.
Hgrb"d explained: "you should know that this is the extent to anything holy, when a person dismisses something - again this is not going to help him win, for example, a person who is contemptuous of prayer, should not be surprised if prayer will not help in time of trouble."
Rosh Yeshiva concluded: "Recently, there has been a state of disrespect for the Torah and its sages, and there are those who act against Gedolei Yisrael, whether by act, speech, G-d forbid, as was unheard of in recent times, and therefore it is no wonder that when we disregard respect for the Torah – it weakens the power to guard and save, and therefore we must impose on our hearts and strengthen it and by this we will complete the Torah and protection."
Hgrb"d finished his remarks: "We must strengthen at this difficult time on the burden with hundreds of thousands of our brethren in Israel in the south who are going through hardships, and a duty for everyone to strengthen the study of Torah and between man and his fellow man."
