After a relatively quiet night in the south, morning began (Friday) with rocket barrages throughout the South - that continued during the visit of Prime Minister of Egypt in the Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, Gaza cannot recover following a night of IDF bombings across Gaza.
An air raid siren was sounded at 13:30 in Tel Aviv. Many residents in the area say they heard an explosion. Another siren was sounded again after a few minutes. Tel Aviv police reported that falls were in open areas, with no damage and no casualties.
Police ordered the Municipality of Tel Aviv to immediately open all urban public shelters.
TAHAL said that so far 500 rockets were fired since the beginning of the 'Pillar of Defense' operation. Only 26 rockets landed in constructed areas. Other missiles were intercepted or fell in open areas.
Grad rockets fell and exploded during the morning in open areas in Ashdod - nearby apartment buildings and vehicles, Hatzalah volunteers and MDA medics were called to the scene and gave medical treatment to 15 slightly injured as a result of anxiety, of which four victims of injury were due to glass breaking from the blast.
Moshe Weitzman a Hatzalah medic - south, says: "These are visible miracles, the initial report was a direct hit on a building with dozens of casualties, when I got to the scene I saw that the rocket landed near the building, and because of the blow, some apartment windows were smashed, cars which were in the driveway were damaged by shrapnel. We gave medical care to anxiety victims and to 4 people with cuts due to glass breaking.
A missile landed in the center of Ashkelon this morning. Some citizens were slightly injured. At the same time rockets also landed in the Eshkol Regional Council. Two rockets exploded in open areas in Kiryat Gat. Another rocket fired at the Gan Yavne area - was intercepted, as well as one fired at Ashkelon coast.
Another hit in the Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council. A building sustained damage, Firefighters arrived at the scene after a fire broke out. No injuries were reported.
This morning an alarm was sounded twice in Beer Sheva, Ofakim, Sderot and nearby communities. Iron Dome system succeeded in intercepting several rockets fired at Beer Sheva.
In total nearly 90 rockets were fired since the morning hours to the south.
In light of the high success of the Iron Dome intercepting a significant percentage of the rockets fired at residential areas, the IDF will receive a fifth battery system on Motzei Shabbos, who's transmission was advanced by two months in light of the current situation. The battery will be delivered by the Administration for the Development of Weapons and Technological Infrastructure at (MOD) Ministry of Defense and Rafael.
Egyptian Prime Minister crossed the Rafah crossing this morning to the Gaza Strip, where he met with Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh, who came out of hiding, and visited with him in the Shifa hospital. They visited the wounded from the IDF attacks, and then assigned to the office of Ismail Haniyeh.
During the visit, Kandil called out to the world to intervene in what is happening in the Gaza Strip. "Egypt is working to stop the Israeli aggression," he said, making it clear that his country was behind the Palestinian people. He added that the first delegation which arrived today is one of more future delegations which are supposed to reach Gaza. He concluded his words to the Palestinians "unite to win."
IDF attacked 150 launch systems in Gaza tonight
At the same time, the IDF continues to massively attack the Gaza Strip: Palestinian sources reported that the Air Force attacked in Rafah the house of Mohammed Abu Shmallah, commander of the southern area of the Gaza Strip, the Izz al - Din al - Qassam Brigades.
Palestinians also reported one dead and three wounded in an IDF strike in Jabalya. However, the IDF denied and claimed that there was no attack in the area.

"Since the beginning of the operation the Iron Dome system intercepted over 130 rockets. Gaza became an Iranian base in front and it puts the citizens of Israel under rocket fire and unbearable terror. IDF is determined and will continue to attack targets that are bases for terrorism against Israeli civilians. At these moments, the IDF continues a wave of a planned attack, massive and accurate at the sub launching positions - ground fire aimed at Israeli towns.
"During the night, a building used to manage terrorist activity in Khan Yunis was attacked. The assault detected a significant explosion, suggesting the presence of cluster weapons in the place. A large part of weapons stored were located in civilian residential buildings. This is further evidence of the pattern of the Hamas terrorist organization and the use of the population in Gaza as human shields ".
