Since the beginning of 'Pillar of Defense' military operation MDA personnel treated 74 casualties, 20 of them during Shabbos • A group of volunteers from Hatzalah New York arrived in Israel specially to help

During Shabbos MDA forces in the south and center of the country treated 20 casualties, including 15 suffering from anxiety and five slightly injured. Since the opening of 'Pillar of Defense' in Gaza, MDA forces are as on high alert as possible to provide efficient care, effective and life saving for the residents of the south, and at the same time continue to answer common calls throughout the country.
Since the beginning of the 'Pillar of Defense' events MDA forces treated 74 casualties in the south and center of the country, including three killed by a rocket building in Kiryat Malachi. MDA conducts assessments from time to time; MDA emergency stations operate from protected areas.
MDA are constantly in touch with IDF officials, Israel Police, government and defense, and continue to be prepared and give a solution for every need that may arise. The public is asked to obey the instructions of the Home Front Command, make sure to go carefully and safely to protected spaces when the air raid signal goes off, immediately call the 101 emergency lines for every medical need which arises and abide the emergency helpline until MDA teams arrive.
On Friday morning MK Dr. Rachel Adato set out to patrol the south area alongside MDA CEO Eli Bean. The two closely overlooked the activities of MDA for three days and met with a group of volunteers from New York Hatzalah who made it all the way from the U.S. to volunteer in MDA and assist residents in the south. They ended the tour at MDA station in Be'er Sheva, where MK Adato took in interest in the work at the emergency center.
MK Dr. Rachel Adato said: "As a professional in the medical field the tour today with MDA CEO at the stations in the south confirmed the sense of security that there is total control of MDA in everything to do with responsibility in the field of emergency medicine. From the tour I conducted even in hospitals in the south it is entirely clear to me that the health care system works best when they are well prepared, the activity and the combination of MDA and they are optimal. It is heartwarming to see the volunteers who came especially from abroad to strengthen the MDA workers and volunteers and I see the determination and dedication and I have no doubt that it can leave the southern residents with a feeling that they have who to rely on."
Sderot MDA station also hosted MK Shaul Mofaz, who came to show support for the people of MDA, who are busy with the 'Pillar of Defense' operation. MK Mofaz was briefed on the activities of MDA. At the conclusion of the visit, MK Mofaz said, "MDA is renowned in Israel and abroad. Few countries possess a national rescue organization that citizens and politicians alike know and trust them and their abilities. The sacrifice and professionalism of the organization are worthy of the highest esteem."
In parallel to MDA forces in the south, MDA reiterate to the public that in order to maintain the blood at the blood bank of MDA, the public are requested to donate blood during the week. Fund-raising centers in southern Israel have protected areas and in accordance with the Home Front Command.

We are aware that our actions always give stamina to soldiers and residents of the State of Israel. "
