Hgr"a Yosef addressed tonight (Motzei Shabbos) in his weekly sermon the plight of the residents of the south, and called upon those who can help them.
"I urge residents of the south, everyone has old men and women around them, disabled and handicapped, no one will help them go to protected places, the duty of everyone is to worry about safety."
Hgr"a also requested to say, 'Aveinu Malkeinu' starting tomorrow (Sunday) morning and in afternoon prayers, and when opening the Ark on Mondays and Thursdays to say Psalm of Asaf, said on the fast of Gedaliah.
Finally Hgr"a Yosef held a Mi Sheberach and blessed IDF soldiers and residents of the south.
