An Arab attacked this evening (Shabbos) avreichim who were dining together with their families at the Caliv halls in Jerusalem. The attacker fled.
An orthodox family rented one of the halls in Caliv in the neighborhood of Ezrat Torah in Jerusalem. A number of men belonging to the family moved to an adjacent hall during Seuda Shlishit and the Arab at the place complained they were disturbing him and hit them.
"I was in the 'shteibel' adjacent to the hall", a witness told B'Chadrei Charedim. "All of a sudden I heard blasts and things flying."
According to his reports when he entered the hall he saw that chairs, barriers and other objects were strewn around. "The waiters and other participants were afraid of the Arab because he was equipped with a pole." He added, "But they were able to avoid curious onlookers from entering."
The avreichim tried to prevent a violent incident, one that could have ended in disaster.
They planned on calling the police as soon as Shabbos ended, but they then realized the Arab had fled on a motorcycle belonging to his friend.
