Detectives in Lev Tel – Aviv station, which were in the midst of an initiated activity in the city, noticed a man whose behavior aroused their suspicion.
The detectives followed the suspect and noticed that he entered the rear of a synagogue on Oliphant Street, smashed a window and entered. The suspect was captured while hiding in the synagogue and in possession of charity boxes.
The man, 59, who has no permanent address, is suspected of at least four similar cases in the last couple of breaks into synagogues and Mikves in the area.
The suspect was brought to a hearing in court. Further investigation is taking place at the heart of Tel Aviv station.
