Thousands at the funeral of Rosh Yeshivas Slabodka Hagra"h Zacks zt"l
Thousands accompanied the Rosh Yeshiva of Slabodka, Hagaon Rabbi Amram Yitzchak Zacks zt"l, one of the greatest Gedolim of our generation to his burial place. The funeral left from the Yeshiva in Bnei Brak

Thousands are accompanying the Slabodka Rosh Yeshiva, Hagaon Rabbi Amram Yitzchak Zacks zt"l in Bnei Brak, one of the greatest Gedolim of our generation who passed away yesterday (Monday) at the Maayenei Hayeshua hospital.
Lately he had fallen ill and was hospitalized. His many students prayed for the recovery of Rabbi Amram Yitzchak ben Esther Leah, but this evening he returned his soul to its maker.
Hagr"a zt"l was the son in law of the Rosh Yeshiva Hagaon Reb Mordechei Shulman zt"l, shortly after his marriage he was called to the Slabodka Yeshiva, where he was Rosh Yeshiva for 50 years, alongside the Roshei Yeshiva Hagr"b Rosenberg zt"l, and Hagaon Hirsch and Hagaon Landau.
He brought up thousands of students to Torah study, his shiurim were known as deep and full of theoretical content.
On Chol Hamoed Sukkos in the year תש"נ his daughter Mrs Devorah Leivovitz a"h passed away at a young age. Since then he was sad and his health deteriorated.
Amongst his students: Rebbe of Alexander, Reb Azriel Auerbach, Reb Yitzchak Zilberstein, Reb Yehuda Sillman, Reb Dovid Shmidel, Reb Dovid Zvi Aurdentlich-Rabbi of Beitar, Reb Yitzchak Dovid Grossman-Rabbi of MIgdal Haemek, Reb Avraham Yosef Leizerson, Meir Porush and Mosh Gafni.
Hagr"a took part as a member of Mifal Hashas as well as the Yeshiva committee which sought his advice for many years.
At the Slabodka yeshiva the paraochet was removed as soon as the death became known.
He left his wife, the Rebbetzin and mother of the Yeshiva, his son Hagaon Reb Simcha Shmuel from the Roshei Yeshiva. His son in laws: Reb Zvi Eliyahu Shteinberg, Reb Zvi Shwartz, Reb Yitzchak Gefen, Reb Binyamin Shikowsky. His brothers are: Reb Aharon Zacks-Rosh Yeshivas Slabodka for young students and Hagaon Reb Dov Zacks-Rav of the Yeshiva.
At 06:00 am the preparations at the yeshiva with the municipality and police for the onset of the funeral were final. It was taken into account that the funeral may take place under pouring rain.
The funeral will leave today (Tuesday) at 11:00 am from the Slabodka Yeshiva hall on Rabbi Shach Street in Bnei Brak. By the orders of Harav Karelitz all yeshivas in Bnei Brak will take time off to accompany the funeral.
List of eulogizes: Hagray"l Steinman, Hagrb"d Povarsky, Sanzer Rebbe, his student Hagr"y Zilberstein, Hagr"d Landau, Hagrm"h Hirsh and maybe Gab"d Eideh Charedi Hagry"t Weiss.
Hagr"a wished to be buried in Jerusalem, but by order of Hagr"d Landau, for the respect of his father in law Hagr", Shulman zt"l, he will be buried in Bnei Brak at the Ponovicz lot, close to his associate-Hagr"b Rosenberg zt"l.
