"Insolent, Israeli Prime Minister interfered in the U.S. elections, and endangered the Jews"

Tens of thousands of Satmar chassidim celebrated last night, on the eve of 21st Kislev, the 68th anniversary of the salvation of the Rebbe the 'Divrei Yoel' zt"l from Satmar-the day he was saved in the year תש"ה from the hands of the Nazis in Hungary and left on the Kestner train to Switzerland.

Chassidim gathered for the event in Emery Hall, located in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, where the Satmar chassidim have celebrated the day since the year תשל"ז – during the last three years of the 'Baal Haness; - and then - in all his years of the Rebbe the 'Barych Moshe' zt"l.

Throughout the last week activists worked to prepare the hall for the event, and at seven o'clock the hall doors were opened and thousands of followers from all over the State of New York flocked inside.

Event speakers included Hagaon Menachem Mendel Teitelbaum Satmar rabbinical court of Williamsburg, Rabbi Mordechai Elazar Hirsch CEO Satmar institutions in Williamsburg. The event was held for the benefit of the institutions and managed a dinner, and Avraham Eisen - special envoy of the governor of New York read a letter of congratulations. Guest of honor at the event was Rabbi Shmuel Eliezer Stern, Rabbi of western Bnei Brak and member of Badatz Shevet Halevi.

But, as expected, the main speech of the evening was the Satmar Rebbe's sermon, who gave the central speech. In his remarks he addressed the issue of recruiting the yeshiva students and complained about the indifference of the public on the issue. The Rebbe said that if you take money from the state and there are those who shout that the Haredim are residents holding rights as everyone else - so the argument why the Haredim do not serve is well understood.

From the bottom of his heart the Rebbe cried out: "Israeli leaders where are you? Israeli leaders where are you? Why is there such silence from the leaders of Israel? Why not go out exactly as they did 50 years ago, when there was a recruitment decree and Israeli leaders were not silent?

The Rebbe said he would do everything he could from the United States to cancel the terrible decree which is hovering over yeshiva students in the Holy Land.

Then he referred to the U.S. election results, saying: "There were elections now in the U.S. For the first time, the insolent Israeli Prime Minister, made an undiplomatic move when he supported a candidate running against the President. We must imagine to ourselves what would have happened if, G-d forbid, he would have lost the election. It is known that Esav hates Yaakov and supporters of the president would have poured their anger on the Jews of the United States.

"How dare he take upon himself the bloodshed that would have come out of it," said the Rebbe. "To put at risk the lives of thousands of Jews. Thank G-d the President remained in office and Jewish blood was not spilled by a haughty man who thinks that all the Jews are worth nothing."
