The exciting incident became the talk of Seret Vizhnitz since last Thursday, and the chassidim are talking about it in amazement.
It was last Purim, when a Seret Vizhnitz chassid, that eight years had passed since his marriage and has yet to have children, entered the room of the Seret Vizhnitz Rebbe and asked for his blessing for sons. "Rebbe," the chassid cried, "I have prayed, begged and have yet to see my salvation."
The Rebbe listened to his request seriously, and then gave him the long-awaited promise. "You will have a son in the near future." The man came out beaming and brimming with joy.
Following him, another chassid came to receive a blessing. This man had been blessed with a son, but several years had passed since then. "What about you? You don’t need children?" The Rebbe asked brightly. "Rebbe, I have already one son," replied the man. "Well, then, I bless you that you will soon have a daughter", the Rebbe showered his blessing on him.
They both held the Rebbe's promise in their hearts and did not tell anyone about it. All this took place, until last Thursday, the 5th day of Chanuka. Nine months and two weeks exactly since that day - the two embraced children. The first bore a son and the second a girl, just as they were blessed.
Disciples shared the stories with their friends, and Seret Vizhnitz was in turmoil.
