Heads of "Tov": want to join High Court appeal against Yair Lapid

'Tov' movement, the social hareidi movement, has applied to the Supreme Court to join as respondent alongside the State of Israel against the petition of Yesh Atid party of Yair Lapid, to reverse the decision of the government on the posting of 1300 hareidim in national civil service routes.

"It's hard to understand how Yair Lapid changed his mind and for impractical reasons suddenly opposes civil service for hareidim," says chairman of movement, Chanoch Werdyger. "Thousands of Orthodox integrate into various circles of activities, and we in 'Tov' represent them and work for them.

"It is also upsetting to see, while the court is going to decide the fate of thousands of hareidim, the hareidi representation does not lift a finger on the matter. Despite its declarations, it does not take care, when it comes to the test, for haredim who want to enter the labor market. One can understand the secular parties who prove that they have no interest to encourage them, but why do the hareidi parties neglect them? Where did haredi politicians disappear to? Are only party matters on the agenda? The results of the Plesner Committee proved that it's useless to ignore, and one should not leave the public arena without constant supervision. "

This move joins the activity of the Tov movement, when during the government's debate on the abolition of the Tal Law, it established the "Tent of serving haredim" in front of the Knesset, which was visited by hundreds of haredim who served and are serving in military and civilian service courses. That comes alongside public activity initiated by the movement in front of the 'Suckers' Tent' and representatives of government and the Knesset, in order to preserve the arrangement which allows service not by force for those who turn to the labor market and conservation of the status of Yeshiva students.

The application to join the state's response filed by the leaders of Tov, is represented by attorney Dr. Aviad Hacohen, including Chairman of the Movement Chanoch Werdyger, CEO attorney Ariel Deri, Attorney Yechezkel Rosenblum – movement representative at the Attorney Association, Yisrael Pachter - representative of the movement in Beitar, and the Tov representative of Beit Shemesh, Harav Eli Friedman.
