Hgray"l Steinman and the Vizhnitz Rebbe met this evening (Monday) at the house of Hgray"l on Chazon Ish in Bnei Brak, to discuss the implications of stabilization yeshiva students in the centers.
The meeting was the culmination of a process that began on Shabbos Seuda Shlishit. As mentioned, during Seuda Shlishit the Vizhnitz Rebbe instructed his disciples, when he was clearly upset: "I order all the advocates of Vizhnitz, and ask all fearful to Hashem not to stabilize there, G-d forbid. If they come to take you with iron chains, tell them the Vizhnitz Rebbe does not allow going to such a place and taking me to jail!"
The Rebbe's instructions, which opposed the decision of the Council of Torah Sages of Degel Hatorah who called to the yeshiva students to report to the centers upon receiving their call - but not sign the documents, came after the Rebbe learned the event of severe harassment against a yeshiva student from the chassidus .
Upon hearing the order of the Rebbe, Hgray"l Steinman called the MKs' of Degel HaTorah, Moshe Gafni and Uri Maklev, and ordered them to act immediately against the IDF for violations of the agreements.

The strong messages were transferred to the IDF, and this morning Deputy Health Minister Yaakov Litzman and Finance Committee Chairman Moshe Gafni's met heads of the IDF Personnel Directorate at Litzman's office at the Health Ministry in Tel Aviv.
At the head of the IDF representatives was head of planning and Manpower Personnel Director Gen. Gadi Agmon, who briefed for the participants the screening and stabilization processes taking place for candidates for security service from the Haredi sector.
"Agmon clarified at the meeting that the rules promising screening procedure suited to the lifestyle and beliefs of the candidates for the service are being kept. During the meeting it was agreed that invasive tests can be performed by a civil surgeon, and their findings will be acceptable in the centers," IDF Spokesperson announced after the meeting. It was also agreed that female soldiers will not to take the interviews with the attendees.
Immediately after the meeting, Deputy Health Minister Yaakov Litzman updated the Vizhnitz Rebbe with the details of the agreements reached. Meanwhile, Hgray"l Steinman was updated on the summaries and clarified that due to this the decision of the Moetzet is valid.
In light of the developments, the Rebbe came to visit the home of Hgray"l, to coordinate with him the guidelines details for yeshiva students. Hgray"l said during the meeting that we must now follow that the agreements with military leaders get on the ground, and the army would strictly follow the new guidelines, as agreed.
It was also decided that if the army will keep the agreements, not as befell the agreements from December 4 – which were crudely broken, then the Vizhnitz Rebbe and Hgray"l Steinman will write a detailed letter with their opinions on the subject, which will be signed by all Gedolei Yisrael from all communities.
At some point during the meeting the Rebbe ordered all accompanists to leave the room, including MK Menachem Eliezer Moses and only Hgray"l's grandson Rabbi David Shapira and Rabbi Mordechai Stern stayed in the room.
Apart from the recruitment issue they discussed the preparations for the elections. The Rebbe and Hgray"l, also expressed their appreciation to members of the Knesset Gafni and Litzman, who are working with great dedication on the draft issues.
