Rabbi Bakshi Doron: I want a speedy trial, my health is deteriorating

A day after the filing of charges against the former Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rishon Lezion Rabbi Eliyahu Bakshi - Doron, he filed today (Tuesday) through his lawyers Dr. Yaakov Weinroth and Yaron Kustlitz, a unique and urgent request to determine the start of his trial as soon as possible, in order to use the fundamental right to a speedy trial and the right to see his innocence and his name publicly vindicated during his lifetime.
The request notes that yesterday a spokesman for the Ministry of Justice published in any media an extensive message attributed to Rabbi Bakshi - Doron actions which would bring disgrace, and thus causing unimaginable damage to the rabbi.
Rabbi Bakshi Doron made the request for a speedy trial, in order to keep up the opportunity to be involved in legal proceedings in the case and clear his name so that the bad name received by filing charges against him will not stay attached to his name, if he can not testify in the future trial due to his medical condition.
Advocates point out that "the judgment of the indictment against the Rabbi must be disabled at the entrance to court, in light of the fact that the prosecution had announced in 2007 to the rabbi that they did not prosecute him to criminal prosecution and now by indicting him have a serious violation of fundamental rights of the Rabbi.
The indictment deals with the involvement of the former Rishon Lezion in the Rabbis case, during which false certificates of ordained rabbi were issued for more than 1,000 soldiers and police. According to the indictment, by using false titles millions were received by the country systematically as an increase in wages for military personnel and police, which there was no basis to be paid for.
