Florida: Taxi driver with kippah robbed hareidi couple

The intense cold that prevails in Europe and the U.S. this week, combined with the Christian holiday vacation, make the hot Florida into the favorite destination each year - to which all who desire a summer weather at the height of the cold, escape.

Thus the great 'migration' began this week, of the hareidi community vacationers from New York to Florida.

Yesterday (Mon.) a hareidi couple from London arrived at the International Airport in Florida. Laden with luggage, the couple searched for a taxi to take them to the hotel – in which they were supposed to stay. Suddenly, a man wearing a black cap loomed up before them, approached them politely and introduced himself as a car service driver, and offered to take them to the hotel.

The couple happily obliged and began to load their luggage on the cab, the driver started the taxi and waited patiently until the couple finished loading the luggage in the baggage. But when the couple finished loading and closed the baggage – the driver started the vehicle, and in front of their horrified eyes quickly disappeared.

One of the couple quickly recovered and managed to record the number plate of the taxi. The information was transferred to the airport police, but in the meantime the couple remained without Talis and Tefillin, without the expensive Shtreimel and without luggage.
