FBI in New York arrested last Thursday Noel Alba, 37, for fraudulently collecting donations for the family of the Jewish child Noah Posner age 6, one of the 20 children killed in the horrific school massacre in Newtown - arguing that she is his aunt.
Alba used her Facebook account, phone and text messaging to raise the funds. She raised the large amounts paid through paypal account, the use of which is free for consumers, and is synchronized with the credit card and checking account.
The fraud began immediately after the murder, she wrote on her personal Facebook page: "All we know is that 18 children were killed, no word on my nephew." A few days later she asked for donations through the account and wrote that the fund should be established for him.
"This is disgusting behavior," said Alexis Heller, an uncle of the child.
Alba appeared before a judge this weekend in Hartford, Connecticut Court, and was charged with several offenses and released on bail of 50 thousand dollars. If convicted, she may face a sentence of five years in prison and a fine of $250 thousand.
