Operation Shtreimel: What happened when avreich fell into Yarkon stream
A Chasidic avreich who was riding a bike, wearing his chassidic dress and a shtreimel, fell into the Yarkon River • Volunteers of Yedidim Organization came to his rescue • What were they able to save?

At around 1:00am on Motzaei Shabbos a report was received at the center of the 'Yedidim' organization: a Chasidic avreich who was riding a bike, wearing chassidic dress and shtreimel, fell into the Yarkon River in Tel - Aviv.
A team of volunteers came to the scene, located the site and the avreich – who was dredged from the river, after drifting.
The avreich had lost his glasses, Shtreimel and bike in the Yarkon.
One of the volunteers went into the river while wearing appropriate clothing, and managed to extract the bike, after a long while.
At the time of rescue, the avreich, who was trembling from the cold, received replacement clothing, since all his clothes were soaked.
After an hour and a half the incident was over. The avreich and his bicycles are well.
