After the Palestinians murdered her husband – they stole her car

Robbery on the fragment: Rivka Shapiro, widow of Rabbi Elimelech Shapirp hy"d, a resident of the Pdu'el community, was robbed yesterday afternoon, when she went on the road near the village of Funduq Samaria.


According to a rescue center Samaria, Arabs robbed Mrs. Shapiro, when she stopped in the flood area which took place in the Kena River.


Two Palestinians entered her car, removed her by threats and drove away. With Hashem's help the driver was not injured.


Her husband, Rabbi Elimelech Shapiro hy"d, founded the hesder yeshiva, Eretz Tzvi, Pedu'el, which he headed until his death.

11 years ago, 16th Av תשס"ב, he traveled in the morning to a shiur at the Beis Medrash of Rabbi Ashlag in Bnei Brak, as he did every week. Then, shortly after leaving his house, near Pedu'el, Palestinians fired at the vehicle he was traveling in with his friend.


Rabbi Shapiro was murdered on the spot and his friend was injured. Rabbi Shapiro was 41 years old, leaving a wife and eight children.

Vehicles robbery has already become a phenomenon: On Monday, three Arabs attacked a car of a resident of Kfar Saba, aged 69 while driving to Tel Aviv. Arabs beat the driver, threatened him, and ordered him to drive them to Binyamin.


Later on the way, the Arabs threw the driver out of the car, bruised and wounded on the road in the village of Neve Tzuf, and fled with his vehicle. A police car saw him lying alongside the road; called MDA team which gave him primary care and took him to the hospital.
