The Mekubal held a Mi Sheberach on Shabbos for Rabbi Ovadia - and burst into tears

On Shabbos morning Hgr"o Yosef was hospitalized at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital, for 24 hours after he suffered a mild stroke. At that very moment, far from Jerusalem, in the city of Tiveria, something amazing happened: the Mekubal Rabbi Dov Kook held a Mi Shebrach dedicated to his recovery. According to testimonies at the synagogue, Rabbi Kook makes a Mi Sheberach every Shabbos for all Gedolei Yisrael, but on this Shabbos, when he mentioned Rabbi Ovadia ben Georgia a for a refuah shleima, he burst into tears that lasted several minutes."
A regular member at the synagogue of Rabbi Kook said in conversation with B'Chadrei Charedim: "Some of the worshipers did not understand the meaning of the cry of the rabbi. Only on Motzei Shabbos, when we heard of the hospitalization of Rabbi Ovadia – did we understand what happened and why the rabbi cried."
The Mekubal Rabbi Dov Kook is the son of Rabbi Nachum Kook, one of the rabbis of Ramat Gan and the son of Rabbi Raphael Kook, of Tiveria. In his youth he studied at Ponovicz, and after his marriage he went to study Kabbalah. He authored the books on the revealed and hidden of the Torah. In the 80's he settled in Tiveria.
He founded a Beit Medrash in the city where students gather around him, most of them Baalei Teshuva. Although he is of Ashkenazi – Lithuanian descent he acquired a Sephardic pronunciation and took upon himself to daven Nusach Sepharad. His wife is the speaker Rabbanit Leah Cook, daughter of Hagaon Zilberstein. Their eldest son is married to the daughter of Hagaon Efrati.
