Journey to Poland: Lelov up on table and danced

The Rebbe with a large entourage of hundreds of chassidim visited the tomb of Harav Hakadosh R' Dovid of Lelov, on his yahrtzeit.

The group landed in Warsaw, Poland, and on Wednesday the Rebbe and his associates traveled to the town of Lelov.

Upon arrival, the Rebbe held a short 'Lechaim Tish. In the evening a Tish was held in a huge tent erected for the occasion. The Tish started at around 10 pm and ended at 1:30 AM.

The joy which prevailed instead, rose to great heights. Wine and liquor were poured during the Tisch fit for a king, and an orchestra accompanied the event. The custom in Lelov is that anyone who needs a yeshua, gets on the table and dances for the person of the hillula. This year, mostly yeshiva students who came of age and have not yet found their zivug were seen dancing,.

This tradition began when the shamesh of the Lelov Rebbes Harh"c R' Simcha Krakowski encouraged all childless avreichim, to dance on the table in front of the Rebbe zt"l.

The next day, after the morning prayers and after having a 'Lechaim Tisch', the Rebbe and the public davened on the holy tziyun. This year, the tent was expanded. The complex of the cemetery, which was purchased from shopkeepers who resided there, was all fenced.

Lelov claim that after the buildings on the area of the cemetery were destroyed, it became clear that these were not based on foundations and nothing was excavated but lay on concrete castings only. Therefore, it was possible to find remains of graves.

In this way, activists were able to prove to the authorities that this is a cemetery which one has to annex to the tziyun and not to be used for any other purpose. The tziyun itself has been tested over the past year, using an innovative electronic technique.
