Shas: We will prevail
After the publication of the samples, the three leaders of Shas left for Hgr"o Yosef's home on Hakablan Street, to announce the results. Having heard the results, Hagr"o said a few words of praise and thanksgiving to the Creator and returned to his studies as usual. Few minutes later the movement's leaders again tried to whisper a few words in his ear, but Hgr"o had already plunged into the depths of the Talmud and could not be disturbed in his studies.
After Shachris this morning, Hgr"o said: "I want to thank first of all Hakadosh Baruch Hu, yishtabach shemo, "Hasam nafsheinu bachaim velo natal lamot ragleinu" (who left our souls in life and did not let our feet fall), may He never leave or forsake us, Hashem will also help us stand against all odds and cancel the draft decree on the yeshiva boys so that they can go on to study Torah, and to grow and teach Torah in Yisroel."
In addition, Hagr"o also thanked the activists and avreichim who worked devotedly for the success of Shas. "I thank our ministers who went from town to town and all the activists who worked for it – may Hashem pay your share and may your reward be complete from Hashem, all those who have contributed to the movement, Hashem will extend their days in good and their years in pleasantness, and may we always hear good tidings of salvation and comfort of them."
United Torah Judaism: a rare Kiddush Hashem
Hag"r Aharon Leib Steinman was informed this morning that the United Torah Judaism won 7 seats in the Knesset and that is a huge achievement that will help a lot for the existence of the Torah world. R' Aharon Leib responded: "Baruch Hashem that people acted." But apart from joy R' Aharon Leib also expressed his concern for the conscription law and the danger that they will prevent the yeshiva students from studying Torah.
Hag"r Chaim Kanievsky, who went out of his way for Torah Judaism in the current elections and participated in a historic election meeting in 'Lederman', and even instructed yesterday afternoon on election day after Mincha to say Tehillim for the success of the campaign, was too very happy this morning when informed him about the impressive results. After he davened Vasikin, Harav Shmuel Epstein and Harav Avraham Rubinstein arrived and informed Hag"r Chaim of the result. R' Chaim responded: "Baruch Hashem that they made such a rare Kiddush Hashem."
Last night MKs Moshe Gafni and Uri Maklev visited the home of R' Chaim, along with Harav Avraham Rubinstein, Yaakov Guterman and Yisroel Golomb, and raised to Chaim the fear of the decrease in the power of United Torah Judaism, since the secular public came out en masse to vote. Regarding that R' Chaim said that Be'ezer Hashem the Hareidi community will also go out en masse and will increase the number representatives to the Knesset.
Ponevezh Rosh Yeshiva, Hagaon R' Gershon Edelstein said this morning "Me'es Hashem hayesa zos", and Hashem helped the Rosh Yeshiva Hag"r Aharon Leib Steinman, who bears the yoke of the Torah world and the leader of the Hareidi Judaism - and the desire of the Tzadik was fulfilled.

After Shachrish, the Rebbe of Vizhnitz - who had joined the campaign at the last moment and activated his chassidim for United Torah Judaism – started singing the melodies "Zichru Toras Moshe" and "Ki La'Hashem Hameluchah", when hundreds of chassidim join in excitedly. Later the Rebbe said: "Vi Der Heiliger Rebbe (zy"a) rirt an iz do hatzlocha" (loosely translated: Where there is the holy Rebbe's (zy"a) inspiration there is success).
In addition the Rebbe arrived in the afternoon to visit the Rebbe of Tzanz in Netanya. After greeting him, the Vizhnitz Rebbe said: "Baruch Hashem there was a great success to the hareidi publuic, we see that when everyone is united Scskolm see there success." Said that the Rebbe of Sanz: "also saw the opposite." Then spoke at length about the situation which is difficult for Torah Judaism in Israel on the one hand, and the flowering of the Torah world that was unparalleled in recent times, on the other.
HaGaon Auerbach, despite weakness vote off last night, this morning heard the results, very happy and said that this sanctification of the great.
