Manchester eruv battle: Letters of Rabbis for and against

This Shabbos, BeShalach, will mark a turning among the ultra-Orthodox community in Manchester, due to installation of the new eruv around the Jewish neighborhood in the city. As published in B'Chadrei Charedim, discussion about kosher eruv across the city divides the community and the rabbis.
Although Hgrm"m Schneibalg, Machzikei Hadas Rav, supports the eruv and refuted the distribution of the fake letter in his name - as if he objects to the eruv, then there are prominent city officials, who oppose any change of status which had been the practice.
For example, the community, Yetev Lev – local Satmar, posted messages on the bulletin board at the Beit Midrash that one cannot carry this Shabbos and one must not rely on the new eruv at all.
In one ad, signed by community rabbi Rabbi Mordechai Meller, said:
"Concerning the eruv (holy community), learned the warning of the former Gedolei Hador zt"l, not to place eruvim in large towns from the concerns of violating the Shabbos, G-d forbid, and because of the obstacle that may come out of it, and as explained in the letter of HaGaon Rosh Kollel Shlita.
Therefore we order all members of the community, not to rely on the eruv installed here, including women and children, even during hard times, and not carry.
In another message written by Rabbi Binyamin Zev Kaufman, Rosh Kollel, he explains why one cannot rely on the eruv, and requests of the congregation not to rely on it and continue the old customs.
On the other hand, the Manchester Beis Din continues to give a kashrus consent which states that one may carry without any worries starting from this Shabbos.
Shabbos Parshas BeShalach was chosen to start the eruv as a symbolic connection to this week's Parsha.
