Kalashnikov before his death: "I'm sorry I caused millions to die"

Mikhail Kalashnikov, developer of the famous assault rifle AK- 47 named after him, expressed regret before his death on developing weapons that caused millions of deaths, reported today (Monday), Russian media .

About a year and a half before his death, Kalashnikov sent a letter to Russian Orthodox Church Patriarch Kirl, in which he wondered if he is guilty for the deaths of those killed by using mostly developed weapons.

Kalashnikov who died last month wrote that he had a spiritual anguish as a result of circulation of the rifle throughout the world and the many deaths caused by using it.

Kirl calmed him down in the same response letter, calling him "a true patriot" and wrote that "when weapons are used to protect the homeland, the Church does not rule out the development."
