80 percent of world Jewry, "anti Semitism exacerbated"

Over sixty years after the end of World War II - and anti-Semitic manifestations are still part of life nowadays. Around the world mark today (Monday) the International Holocaust Remembrance Day , and in honor of that a famous report which raises hard data .

The report was prepared by the Ministry for Jerusalem and Diaspora and submitted to the government last night. It says countries that recorded the highest percentage of reported anti-Semitic manifestations are Hungary, Belgium, Sweden and France.

About 33 percent of respondents are concerned of anti-Semitic attack; about 20 percent are considering emigrating from their countries. 33 percent do not leave their homes with prominent Jewish symbols, like a yarmulke, and 23 percent of Jews refrain from participating in events. Quarter of respondents had experienced insults fill the last year, against the background of Jewish affiliation, and 76 percent believe that anti Semitism intensified last five years. About 80 percent believe that the threat to them only intensified.

Chairman of the Habayit Hayehudi, which also serves as minister for Jerusalem and Diaspora Affairs, said that anti-Semitism does not constitute a spur rather immigrate to Israel. According to him, following numerous anti-Semitism sever contact with Jewish life. "Contrary to what people think, anti-Semitism is closer to the Jews in the Diaspora to Israel. Every Jew comes because of anti-Semitism in his environment, there are many who decide not to be related to Jewish life - the quiet effect of anti-Semitism . "
