Kathmandu: Ministry of Foreign Affairs' strike delays delivery for Passover

Kathmandu Chabad emissary Rabbi Hezki Lifshitz, said today that the Foreign Ministry's strike could harm the traditional Seder preparations in the city.

Lifshitz points out that preventive strike by the time the arrival of the container with supplies to Nepal Seder: "We are approaching the last minute and without the assistance of the Foreign Ministry we will find it difficult to maintain order. We also think about creative solutions alternative in case the crisis continues.

"The Foreign Ministry should realize that travelers come from all over the East in order to maintain the traditional order in Chabad, and I suppose they want to be partners in the organization like every year."

Lifshitz said that the authorities require the Chabad House headed sums of money due to a delay in the container. Yet, despite the delays and problems, great effort was made to maintain order as planned, as in a great effort. Lifshitz points out that there is a possibility to build a makeshift matzo bakery.

"We hope the Foreign Ministry workers committee refused to approve the Embassy in Nepal to treat container for the benefit of thousands of Israeli Jews planned to observe the Seder at Chabad of Kathmandu".

Israeli Foreign Ministry employees escalated yesterday sanctions for the first time in Israeli history; all 103 embassies around the world were closed. Foreign ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor doubts the existence of large public seder in the world, held annually in Nepal, directed by Shluchim Rabbi Hezki and Chani Lifshitz.
