Canadian police raided the Lev Tahor; 7 arrested

Ontario Canada: Immigration police raided the Lev Tahor cult in Chatham and arrested seven people so far, the Canadian Press reports.

Canadian police raided the houses of the Lev Tahor congregation, went from house to house and handed out a warning to expulsion orders by immigration authorities.

One of the men arrested is a teacher in the local Talmud Torah; the police raided the place in the midst of class and arrested him in front of his students who broke out into tears.

Cult man told a local radio station: "All detainees are civilians whom their visa expired. They work with a lawyer from Toronto trying to solve the problem."

Members of the cult are in conflict with the child protection authorities in Quebec and Ontario on charges of abuse against 14 children from two families belonging to the cult.

The cult member said that apparently Canadian authorities have decided to make it difficult for members of the cult to stay in the country, "there is a terrible incitement against us, they want to destroy us," he said , "we will have to find another country to emigrate to."
