Shock in Manchester: old seminary closes abruptly
פלאש

Oldest and most mythological Beth Jacob Seminary in Manchester closed its doors after five decades of operations.

The seminary was opened at the time by Rabbi Gavriel Rohyde, and became known as an educational institution corresponding to Gateshead's famous seminary.

Haredi girls, not only from England but also from Israel and greater Europe, preferred the seminary in Manchester and passed through over the years, thousands of girls.

In recent years, another seminary was opened in Manchester called the New Seminary. Even in Gateshead and London new seminaries opened and therefore most girls in the veteran seminary were Israelis.

Director of Seminary, Rabbi Rohyde announced retirement and closing the institution due to his inability to find donations to obtain funding for the maintenance of the seminary.

He also cannot take responsibility for what is happening in the seminary and has no choice but to close the place.

Parents, who received the news, were in shock. It is no small thing, to find a seminary in middle of the school year. The main difficulty prevails among Israelis, many of them will have to find themselves at home in the coming months, until the next school year.
