Tragedy in Monsey: 10 -year-old boy electrocuted by hot glue gun

Tragedy in Monsey: 10 year old boy was electrocuted in his class in Talmud Torah Tzon Yosef of Papa Hasidus in Monsey. The incident occurred on Wednesday at about 2 pm, the children were in the classroom when the 10 year old boy tried to put hot glue gun into the plug.

The child was electrocuted and received an electric shock and burns at level 2. Director of the Talmud Torah Avraham Schmidt said: "The children used a hot glue gun at a workshop held at the same time in the classroom."

The 10 year old boy, as stated, tried to push the device into the plug and received an electric shock and burns. According to Schmidt, the child was conscious but in shock. Hatzala drives arrived at the scene and the child was taken in fair condition to eh Loschester Medical Center.

Director of the Talmud Torah said that the school continues to function normally, but the class was closed and the children were transferred to an alternative classroom. A city inspector visited the school after the incident said that the school meets the standards and there were no safety problems. Director of the Talmud Torah Avraham Schmidt added that he is aware that there are problems with the main fuse box.
